Punta Allen is a small Mayan lobster fishing village
located at the tip of the Boca Paila Peninsula. One side of the
village borders the Caribbean, the other Ascension Bay.
Streets are lined with white sand, palm trees, and small charming homes.
The coastline is pristine, scattered with fishing boats that transport
the eager sports fishermen to the famous Flats Ascension Bay to fish.
Punta Allen's charm really lies in its simplicity.
You won't find tourist buses, an array of shops, or air conditioned
hotels. What you
will find is an untouched oasis, a village where life goes on as
it has for centuries. You'll find simple pleasures like watching incredible
sunsets from the
dock overlooking Ascension Bay.
Conveniences like several small grocery stores do
exist, as well as a gas station, cantina and several restaurants.
